The Cleveland Area Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) was founded in January 2008 to provide educational and networking opportunities to BGS members living in Northeast Ohio. We are the first alumni chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma in Ohio and one of 26 alumni chapters in the world. There are 9,300 BGS members residing in Northeast Ohio who work at a variety of prestigious corporations, hospitals, law firms, governmental agencies, educational institutions, and non-profits including Ernst & Young, Medical Mutual, KeyBank, Sherwin Williams, American Greetings and the Cleveland Clinic.

Since January 2008, we have held a wide variety of educational and networking events. Educational events have featured distinguished guest speakers including Chris Connor, CEO of The Sherwin-Williams Company, and Terry Egger, Chief Publisher of The Plain Dealer. 

More recently, we held a technology and innovation conference on January 14, 2012, featuring presentations by Dr Lorry Wagner - President of LEEDCo  and Hunter Morrison – Urban Planner.  Congratulations to the case study winners: Hannah Simon, Shawn Cain, Mark Warman, and Laurajeanne Cerniglia.  We also want to extend a special thanks to our panelists and moderator: Hallie Rich - Senior Consultant at BrownFlynn, Dave Nash – Partner at McMahon DeGulis LLP, Cliff Wood – CEO of Ohio Cooperative Solar,  and Cindy Cicigoi - VP of Global Sustainability at RPM Building Solutions Group.

As an alumni chapter, we offer many tools for professional development. Perhaps most notable is our annual Entreprenurial Club.  The club is designed team up members who are interested in starting their own business.  To help facilitate the process their is a quarterly speaker series, by local experts,  and “business report outs” by the teams.  At the end of the year the teams will compete for prizes and present to a board of panelists who have capital to invest in potential business ideas.
